The Glasgow Film Festival is underway here in the wee smoke.

For fifty years the Guga hunters kept their activities out of the public eye, refusing countless approaches from filmmakers but last year Mike Day managed to win their trust and has produced a unique and fascinating glimpse into this long-hidden tradition.

If you missed the BBC2 screening or would like to see it on the big screen,  Mike Day will be in Glasgow for a special showing at the film festival as part of the Ceols Craic line up and will be joined by five of the hunters from Ness. There’ll also be a Q&A with Mike and Dods the hunt leader after the screening and the behind the scenes footage will be shown.
